A QUICK LOOK BACK AT LAST MONTH ...

LOOKING BACK ...

Reverend John McGrath led us in our Lenten Meditation on Tuesday, 26th March. John refreshed our memories by talking about each of the fourteen Stations of the Cross, whilst giving us time for reflection and prayer between each one.

On Tuesday, 10th April our speaker was Father Alex Frost. He spoke about his journey into the priesthood, from store manager at Argos to curate at St. Matthew’s. For a man who had never really been inside a church, knew next to nothing about hymns and services, the last ten years have seen Alex realise his vocation through hard work and dedication. Alex is a naturally funny man, performing Christian comedy with his partner Father Chris Kravich, and he had been considering a career in standup comedy. However, as Alex said, “You never know when God is going to tap you on the shoulder”.

Programme Update:

We have had to change two of our up and coming dates.

New dates are as follows:

Tuesday 9th October, 2pm Marjorie Holt

Tuesday 23rd October, 7.30pm Batch Gin Night.

There are still some Tuesday dates to be arranged.

PENDLE VILLAGE MILL VISIT

Although most of us have visited many times(!) we are organising lunch and a mooch around the mill on Tuesday 12th June. The visit is open to all members and non-members. Please let me know if you’d like to come along.
